Prof Mulala Danny Simatele is an associate professor and adjunct Professor in environmental management and sustainability at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and Rusangu University in Zambia. He is also the Chief Consultant and Technical Advisor at Palme Africaine Consulting Group, an organization whose head office is in the Democratic of the Congo. Prof Simatele’s research revolves around themes including; climate change adaptation, collaborative natural resource management, water-energy and climate change nexus, water-food and climate change nexus; solid waste management, water resource management, environmental monitoring and assessment as well as environmental sustainability. Prof Simatele has taken a number of advisory roles for bilateral and multilateral agencies, and is currently one of three technical advisors on climate change and agriculture development for the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). He has served as member of the Scottish Think-Tank on environmental management and sustainability.
