Professor Poovendhree Reddy is currently an Associate Professor in Environmental Health in the Department of Community Health Studies, Faculty of Health Sciences at the Durban University of Technology. Her area of interest is public health with emphasis on maternal and child health; water management and quality related to health risk assessment and antimicrobial resistance. She is a recipient of the Grand challenges Africa AMR grant involving detection of antimicrobial resistance in wastewater. She has been actively involved in higher education for about 20 years with achievements in academic management and leadership, teaching, research and postgraduate supervision. She has published research articles in national and international journals, is an invited reviewer and editorial board member for numerous international journals, has presented extensively at both national and international conferences and received numerous research grant awards. She is a HELM LEAD fellow, a curriculum development champion, postgraduate coordinator and mentor within her department and faculty.
